Jane de Winter has a PhD in Economics and has been a community leader in the
schools which gives her a good balance of technical and people skills.  Her resume is
very impressive,

August 30, 2010 - Jane continues to hone her message and it becomes more clear at
each forum that she is a highly intelligent woman who has thought through the issues
and could be an asset on the Council with her critical eye and analytical nature.

August 8, 2010 - The Democratic forum at the Casey Community Center, gave Jane an
opportunity to explain her positions.  She is an advocate for infrastructure funding
and feels strongly that the County should follow through with promises for
infrastructure.  Also, as an economist she can examine country-wide trends and
predict how that will affect the county.

July 12, 2010 - During the Germantown candidate forum, Jane remarked that
Montgomery County should have broad-based taxes on the things we value instead
of a lot of little hidden taxes.  She said we need to be smarter about how we utilize
the county’s limited resources.
She said the current Council has "driven the bus into a brick wall".
